My obsession with oat flour continues with this new recipe. 😊 Now, I would not recommend this meal for a person who is having a bad day with gastritis, where the pain is worse than the usual. However, this recipe is good when you are having a regular gastritis, hiatal hernia, IBS day and you want to treat yourself with some delicious food, that won't make much problem for your stomach.
King's pie is an amazing breakfast or dinner meal, but it is usually made with a lot of spices, acid food and white flour. This is my adaptation for everyone with bad stomach. Let's get started with this royal meal!
INGREDIENTS
Baking mixture
🍴4 eggs
🍴Two cups of oat flour
🍴Two cups of yogurt
🍴1/2 cup of olive oil
🍴Sip of milk
🍴Sip of mineral water
🍴2 baking powders
Solid ingredients
🍴 150 g of cooked chicken white meat or chicken salami
🍴 150 g of vegetables mix (anything that is OK with your stomach)
🍴 Oregano or basil
Optional
🍴 Sauce or cheese (Be careful with this!!)
RECIPE
1. First lets prepare the baking mixture. Start with mixing eggs, than add other mentioned ingredients and mix it till it turns into homogeneous mass. Milk and mineral water are optional, so you don't have to add this. It is recommended for better taste and softer pie.
2. Then, cut the meat and vegetables as much as you can. I was preparing this meal quickly so I didn't have time to cut it so much, but the smaller pieces are the tastier it gets. I used chicken salami and peppers because I am feeling better and because I need more fiber. But if you can't eat pepper try something mild, like precooked potato or carrot and cooked white meat. Add oregano or basil and mixed those solid ingredients with baking mixture in a bowl.
3. Now that the mixture is ready, pour it in baking tin with baking paper and adjust it to be even on all sides. You can put the oregano or basil over the top with a little bit of some sauce. I used red sauce, but be careful! You can only add this if you are sure that your gut will respond correctly. This is really not necessarily and your meal will be tasteful even without it.
4. Preheat oven to 220 ℃ / 428 ℉ and bake it for 35-40 min. Test the inside of the pie with fork, so if it doesn't stick it is baked. If not, bake it a little more.
IMPRESSION
This can be a tasteful meal, and your stomach can handle it, but only if you are careful. We are all individuals, so maybe somebody would respond better to it and someone would not. Oregano and basil are actually very good for stomach, soothing its symptoms, however the choice of vegetables and meat should be up to you. Chose something that suits you the best.
Bon Apetit! 🍞🍴
